Hi there!

My name is Monica. I am a proud, born and raised, Texan girl. I live with my husband, our beautiful little girl, and our loving rescue dog, Ollie. In the past three years, my husband and I were both diagnosed with different auto-immune diseases. My diagnosis came first- ulcerative colitis- and it was at that time that I decided to try and heal myself through food. I began my journey on a Paleo diet, and have lived a Paleo lifestyle ever since. More recently, my husband was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, and has found great relief in joining me on this grain-free healing journey.

My inspiration for the name of this blog came after realizing the important role our home has played throughout our hardships and struggles with health. After a tough day, there is no better place to escape to than the warm haven we have created here at home, and there is no better meal to refuel on than the one that is made in our kitchen. When I am needed to provide comfort, I find myself telling my husband and my daughter, "Everything is ok now. You are home."

Our home is also our fun place. We love nothing more than having dance parties in the kitchen in our pajamas and socks, and rocking out to Disney soundtracks (the toddler's music choice). Cooking with friends and enjoying a good, warm, meal paired with an exquisite wine makes for a better weekend night than going to any restaurant would.

I have dedicated the last few years to healing through food in the comfort of our home, and I am so happy to be able to inspire others who are looking to do the same.

On my site, you will find Paleo and Whole 30 compliant recipes that I love. Because I have a huge knack for interior design, you may find me writing about design inspiration every now and again. Lastly, I have always had a passion for writing, so I will share my publications from time to time, and every now and then, I'll get a little personal with my readers.

So, grab yourself a cup of coffee, bone broth, or glass of wine, and enjoy. I am so glad you are here. Here, you are always welcome. Here, you are home.
